So if there is one makeup item that I cannot live without it would be MASCARA…well, that and lip gloss…oh man, this is tough! Let’s be real, I hope I never have to just pick one! I feel like both are actually a NEED, ha!
Seriously tho, Mascara is life guys! It can completely change your look and quite honestly, it’s just a magical beauty product. The unicorn of beauty products- there, I said it!
I have tried SO many different mascaras throughout the years and feel like I never really have just stuck with one.
A few years back I was introduced to the Too Faced Better than Sex and immediately was OBSESSED with it! The name, the look (it’s pink, I like it), the wand. It’s great! The only downfall to it IMO is that it can get a little clumpy in the tube even when it’s brand new. I always have to slide the brush across the top of the tube before applying it so I don’t end up with black eyes and huge globs on my lashes. It’s a great mascara, but can get messy if you’re not careful. The wand is an hourglass shape and can grab a lot of product on the way out of the tube.
I feel like I use it up and then I venture onto something else to try. I gotta tell ya, I’ve always gone back to it tho!
So, here’s a roundup of the most recent mascaras I’ve tested out…
Le Volume De Chanel– currently trying this mascara out and I really like it, but it’s not quite love, ya know? The $32 price tag really irks me.
Mally Beauty More is More– I wasn’t a huge fan of this one. I used the tube until it was gone to give it a real try, but wasn’t overly satisfied. It was pretty hard to remove compared to other mascaras and would get flaky.
Lancôme Monsieur Big– this one was really good actually. I will be purchasing again I’m sure! It gave a lot of volume without being flaky and was easy to remove.
L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black– great drug store mascara! Adds great volume and length.
Next on my list to try:
Mac Haute and Naughty Too Black– I’ve heard great things about this one and the brush looks like one I would love, too!
It Superhero-I actually went to Ulta with this one on my list and was talked out of it. The woman that helped me there said she wasn’t a fan, the wand was too skinny and it just didn’t perform. The wand is everything, really, so not sure if I will give it a go or not. I’m curious tho, because I’ve heard great things!
I should also add I sometimes add a primer into my routine, especially if it’s a night out. Mascara primer is everything and really gives your lashes an extra Oomph!
My go to eyelash primers:
What is your go to mascara? I would love to hear some of your favorites!
